Steve on Flash

Steve Jobs has posted a simply astonishing article about HTML5 and Flash. The two technologies are not the same and are not intended to replace each other. Though one can make the argument that HTML5 can produce products that are currently being done with Flash. That’s basically what Jobs is saying. Anything you can do we can do better, type of thing. It will be true for desktop based browser if Microsoft jumps onboard.

“New open standards created in the mobile era, such as HTML5, will win on mobile devices (and PCs too). Perhaps Adobe should focus more on creating great HTML5 tools for the future, and less on criticizing Apple for leaving the past behind.” -Steve Jobs, April 2010
