Say no to browser detection!

I just need to get this of my chest. I’m saddened to still see the pervasive use of browser detection in websites. It’s silly and unnessary. Of course there are still sites around that are in dire need of an old school code clean up and that have for whatever reason been left behind. But to imploy such tactics today is silly and has never really worked very well. So stop using the bloody things!

Don’t take my word for for it. Peter-Paul Koch and Mark Wilton-Jones (what’s with all the hyphens?) point out some of the reasons why.
