sIFR forth time round

I can’t beleive I missed the upgrade. Better download it quick and get my sites that are the running the script up to scratch. Version 4 seem to have most of the quirks ironed out.

Eh?

Might I humbly suggest that any problems you may be having might be due to implementation. There are plenty of examples of sIFR working beautifully... more often than not actually.

Generally when people have problems implementing it, it's because they are not following suggested usage guidelines (e.g. trying to replace 400 headlines on a page, etc).

I have no problem implementing it. When it works design / typography wise it works beautifully.

I've implemented it on vkmag.com for example.

"The problem is that most solutions with this technique don?t look that good. In most cases where you would like to use an alternative font sIFR is a poor one."

Ok, fair enough. This just seemed like a pretty negative evaluation... but then again, I forgot that you also wrote an article entitled "sIFR sucks" but didn't exactly mean that. :)

The sIFR is and has become a well worked out solution. It's very effective and relatively easy to implement. I'm happy to see such solutions but it's not perfect and I feel I need to put out some of my concerns. Even if it does make me sound like a nay sayer.

Thanks Mark,

I'll be adding a trackback option tonight, so you'll have a choice. I've fix the feed last night. You just need to refresh the feed. And on my next post the feed should be corrected. Also I'll be adding an Atom version as well. Don't tell Anne ;) The contact page is also broken and this will also be fixed tonight. busy busy.
